The insiders guide to breaking into internships-In Policy/Issue Advocacy/Lobbying
October 20, 2017 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
A lot of UW students care deeply about issues from civil rights, to climate change, to homelessness, to education, and so on. One way to get involved with policy is to intern with an elected official who serves on a committee that works on that issue, but there are other ways too! From think tanks, to trade organizations, to government agencies, to nonprofits, to private companies, there is a place for students with a passion to help shape public policy. But if this area appeals to you, you want to get started early – don’t wait till senior year. Come chat with Marie to learn the strategies that will help you break into the world of advocacy!
